Blaze TV: Bensman in Mexico City Live, Migrants Changing Plans in Face of Trump Return

“Most are going to turn around and go home.” “Trump threatened the Mexican government with twenty-five percent tariffs as soon as he entered office if they didn’t use their military to shut down the northward movement,” Bensman told @BlazeTV News. “And I saw them do that. The Mexican government is doing that.” While in Mexico City @BensmanTodd had an off-the-record conversation with a senior Sheinbaum government official.

“The administration is taking a hardline stance on certain things Trump plans to do, but they also recognize that they don’t stand a chance in an economic war, a trade war with the United States, which is what they’re going to get,” he said. “They’re saying things like, we’re not going to accept non-Mexicans back. Or, maybe we’ll take a few Central Americans. But all the rest we’re not going to take back.” Bensman said he believes President Trump and his border czar, Tom Homan, will stand firm on the promises to secure the border and to deport illegal aliens.

“[The Mexicans are] going to have to change their tune on that, because Trump’s probably going to be pushing a lot more than just Mexicans back on day one — deportation and just expulsions at the border,” he said. In Chapter Ten of his book Overrun: How Joe Biden Unleashed the Greatest Border Crisis in U.S. History, Bensman describes how the Biden Harris administration systematically dismantled the deportation and detention system.

“It has to be rebuilt,” he said. “Homan is saying he’ll flood the zone with agents.” Bensman explained that the “Trump-proofing” of blue cities amounts to blocking deportations of inadmissible criminal aliens — a legal category of people who, because of their criminal histories, cannot lawfully be admitted to the United States. “Those blue cities that are Trump-proofing themselves: what they’re Trump-proofing against is just telling ICE where the criminal aliens are. That’s really what this whole thing amounts to. And I can’t, for the life of me, until my dying days, understand why any elected government official would try to block the deportation of criminal aliens. But that’s what they’re saying.”
