BENSMAN EXCERPTS: There’s no way this administration is going to be putting up any new panels. They’ve boxed themselves into a corner politically on that by saying ‘not one more.’ And what this does is reduces the effectiveness of the border wall that was built, the billions spent so far, effectively stopping drug trafficking and human smuggling and all of the stuff you’re seeing happen right now. There are segments that are very close to being completed. There is one silver lining in this in that they do act as somewhat of a funnel, and border patrol can just go to those open areas and patrol. But some of those gaps are like a mile wide.
The flood of people coming in right now come from about 150 different countries, including all of the terror-prone countries like Yemen and places like that. We do not want people like that showing up without identification, which is how they do it.
Regarding the Democrats blaming the previous administration for the crisis: “That is totally absurd on its face. That narrative is a complete fraud. If you talk to any migrant, interview any migrant, ask any migrant on the Mexican side right now why they’re coming now… they’re flat-out candid about why they’re doing it and it’s because of Joe Biden. Listen, you can’t have Alejandro Mayorkas – the head of DHS – at a White House press briefing say out loud to the cameras: ‘We’re not telling you not to come; we’re just asking you to come in a little while so that we can handle you better.’ That’s the top law enforcement officer in the country telling the entire migrant world they can come. And they hear that. I’ve never met a migrant who didn’t have a cell phone.”
